Description of Services

Offering programs and services to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite power and potential of young people.

Traditional Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program: 
Community-based mentoring program matching a young person with a caring adult.
*Matches visit once per week for approximately 3-4 hours, one year minimum commitment required.*

Virtual Mentoring:
One on one mentoring, 1-2 hours per week, meeting virtually.

PRISM Program - Pride Respect Identity Safety Mentoring:
Connecting 2SLGBTQIA+ children and youth with 2SLGBTQIA+ adults. The children and youth can foster an authentic bond with an 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying adult. The relationship will provide a child or youth with a safe place to explore their identities, create an empowering relationship with a mentor and connect to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

In-School Mentoring Program (Adult Volunteers):
Matches a caring adult with a child for one hour per week during the school day, at the the mentee's elementary school (in Oxford County), engaging in a variety of activities like board games, crafts, reading, sports, baking, etc.

(Student Volunteers) Mentoring Programs:
Opportunity for senior high school students to mentor an elementary school student.
*Volunteer opportunities for students who have a 40 hour volunteer requirement.

Couples or Families Matching Program:
Allows a committed couple or family the opportunity to spend quality volunteer time together with a young person.
Helps the mentee develop their understanding of healthy relationships.

Co-op - Student placements:
Opportunity for post-secondary students in the field to complete co-op/placement/praticum hours while participating in school-based one on one and group mentoring programs, while receiving hands-on learning opportunities.

Go-Girls! Healthy Bodies Health Minds:
8-10 week school-based group program designed for self-identifying females, ages 11-14. 

Game On! Eat Smart, Play Smart:
8-10 week school-based group program designed for self-identifying males, ages 11-14. 

S.O.A.R. - Social, Opportunities, Activities, Relationships:
8-12-week community-based group program for our waitlist young people to engage in while they are waiting for a one on one match. Young people participate in a variety of group activities, from horseback riding, dance, yoga, karate, golf, etc.


Cops for Kids:
Community-based group program for our waitlist young people to engage in while they are waiting for a one on one match; currently being offered in Tillsonburg. Group meets once a month for a couple of hours at various community locations, facilatated by supportive role models who work in law enforcement.

Literacy Mentoring:
Supporting a young person in grade 2-8, meeting once a week at the local library, working on various academic tasks, homework, and school projects.

Mentoring is about the power of friendship. The volunteers and young people in our programs experience the magic of everyday moments when they are shared with a friend.
