Description of Services

Since 2008, the Tobermory Food Bank has served those in the community who experience occasional or ongoing food insecurity.  Staffed entirely by volunteers, the Tobermory Food Bank depends upon generous community support in the form of food and cash donations from individuals, area churches, local business and organizations such as the United Way Bruce Grey.

The Tobermory Food Bank provides Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Hampers. Christmas hampers include toys for children 16 years old and younger. Toys/gifts are distributed by Tobermory Food Bank and are collected by Northern Bruce Peninsula Firefighters Association.  Call in advance to register.

Donate Funds

You can drop off a monetary donation during regular Food Bank hours or mail a cheque (payable to the Tobermory Food Bank) to 211 Eagle Road, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0. Cash donations are also accepted at the checkout at Peacock’s Foodland in Tobermory.

You can also donate by e-transfer to tobermoryfoodbank@gmail.com. No password is needed, but if you would like a charitable receipt, you must provide your name and home address in the message section of your transfer, or as a separate email.  Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $20.

Donate Goods

If you’d like to make a practical donation, we are always happy to accept non-perishable food, personal care items or household cleaning products. These donations can be dropped off at Canada Post in Tobermory, Tobermory United Church, Peacock’s Foodland, or at the Tobermory Food Bank (during regular business hours).

Donate Time

The Tobermory Food Bank simply would not survive without the time and talents generously donated by so many community volunteers. It’s so true that “many hands make light work.” If you have even a few hours a month to contribute, please connect with us on our website (www.TobermoryFoodBank.ca).  We would be delighted to meet you and discuss the volunteer opportunities with you.
