Description of Services

MAID is legal in Canada for eligible adults * a doctor or nurse practitioner will give a drug into the vein or prescribes a drug for a person to take by mouth that will result in their death

If a person wishes to have MAID somewhere other than the hospital, they will be referred to resources in the community who can help them
If someone who is not a patient at THP wishes to ask for MAID, they can talk to their doctor or contact the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's Provincial Care Coordination Service at 1-866-286-4023 or TTY 1-844-953-3350
