Provides support to individuals with serious mental illness who have been charged within a low-risk criminal offence. Helps people facing criminal charges who would be better served by the mental health system. Services offered include: - diversion from the criminal justice system to the mental health system - assessment of need and development of a recovery oriented court diversion plan - referring to and accessing short-term and/or long-term services in the mental health system such as case management and supportive housing - education and consultation to other services within the court setting (e.g., judges, defence council, crown attorneys, etc.) relating to consumer issues, mental illness, mental health services and the mental health system
