Acute care hospital
Addiction Services
Offer multiple addiction programs throughout the hospital. Includes emergency addiction crisis workers and addiction medicine physicians, nurses and residents.
Adult Inpatient Unit
A 35-bed unit, including a 6-bed psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients undergoing or requiring intensive treatment in a safe, highly secure area, and 29 acute care beds. Both are secure, locked units.
Ambulatory Care Centre
Offer a wide range of outpatient services including clinics that offer assessment, diagnosis/treatment and therapy for patients and members of the community
Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT)
Provides ongoing and continuous support in the community for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness.
Offers support including: 24-hour crisis intervention, counselling, medication education, assistance with basic necessities of daily living (housing, food, finances), access to substance use services and criminal justice system.
Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health
The program includes a six-bed inpatient unit, an outpatient day hospital, an urgent care clinic, an outpatient addictions consultation clinic and a father's mental health service
Collaborative Care Clinic
Provides assessment and treatment of mental health issues using a multidisciplinary team approach. Provides in-depth assessments, counselling, case management and group therapy based on the needs of the client for an episode of care.
Dialysis Program
A comprehensive range of services for patients at risk of kidney failure or who are in the later stages of kidney disease * manage patients' health to delay the need for kidney replacement treatment * education to the patients on kidney replacement options if required
Emergency Department
Emergency room care * doctors, nurses, and other health professionals assess and treat life-threatening injuries or severe illness
Family Birthing Centre
Care to women and their families during their birthing experience * offer childbirth and parenting classes * offer a variety of birthing options including midwives, family physicians and OB-GYNs
Mobile Crisis Intervention Team
Emergency psychiatric team providing prompt assessment, intervention and referral to individuals experiencing mental health crises * team consists of a specially trained police officer and a mental-health registered nurse * partnership between St. Joseph's hospital and Toronto Police
