Description of Services

Genetic testing, assessment, counselling, treatment and screening programs for infants, children and youth and their families

Cancer Genetics Clinic - Conducts assessments of future cancer risk * provides genetic counselling * arranges genetic testing, if appropriate, and explains results * makes recommendations for prevention, early detection and surveillance, and provides referrals to other providers to receive treatment, surveillance and follow-up care

General Genetics Clinic
- Provides assessment and genetic counselling to families with infants and children who have birth defects and/or developmental delay or family history of a known or potential genetic disease

Inherited Metabolic Disorders - Specialized team offers intervention and treatment care to patients with inherited metabolic disorders and their families

Newborn Screening Program - Identifies newborns at risk of disorders that can lead to significant health concerns * newborns are screened for metabolic, endocrine and hematological conditions * screening is available to every newborn in Ontario
