Description of Services
Provision of inpatient rehabilitative, restorative, and palliative care services
- Dialysis and Renal Care Program Long-term complex medical management for patients who have advanced stage renal disease * offers skilled nursing care and a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services * partnership with The Scarborough Hospital allows patients to receive dialysis treatment on-site
- Medical Rehabilitative Care Program 93-bed inpatient hospital rehabilitation program * focuses on the frail elderly, people with cardiopulmonary conditions, and people with complex medical needs that require technological support * patients have a moderate to high potential for functional improvement
- Musculoskeletal Rehabilitative Care Program 69-bed inpatient rehabilitation program for people recovering from complex orthopedic surgery, orthopedic trauma, or with progressive bone and joint disorders * patients have moderate to high potential for functional improvement
- Neurological Rehabilitative Care Program 75-bed inpatient rehabilitation program for people who have moderate to severe impairment related to a stroke, brain injury, or neuromuscular condition * patients have moderate to high potential for functional improvement
- Palliative Care Support and care to individuals in the end stages of terminal illness such as cancer, kidney failure, advanced stages of a chronic disease and HIV/AIDS * help individuals manage physical pain and offers respite support for families
- Specialized Medical and Complex Care 167-bed complex medical management program for people with significant health impairment, disability, or advanced stage disease * programming focuses on quality of life, coping, and adaption to illness/disability * emphasis on medical stabilization, health optimization, functional maintenance, and risk reduction
- Therapeutic Recreation Provides assessments and helps develop treatment plans and implement specific recreation and leisure activities according to the individual needs
