Description of Services
Partnership between Halton Healthcare, Mississauga Halton Central Intake Program and Trillium Health Partners * through a coordinated intake process, clinics offer patients experiencing hip and knee pain, timely access to assessment and a treatment plan that may include a surgical consult * suitable for individuals 18 years of age and older with moderate to severe hip or knee arthritis, who may also be considering hip or knee replacement surgery * pain management
A regulated health professional (physiotherapist or chiropractor) with advanced training in orthopedic care will conduct the assessment and provide information about the condition, and make treatment recommendations that are tailored to patient's needs * referrals can be made for a surgical consult and/or non-surgical treatment such as exercise or community programs * candidates for surgery will be referred to consult an orthopedic surgeon based on preference of surgeon, hospital or next available appointment * assessment will take approximately 45 minutes * doctor or nurse practitioner will also receive a summary of patient's assessment and recommendations for treatment plan
RAC clinics include:
